About This Site
What you feed your pet or horse is important. It provides them the nutrients they need to live, grow and thrive. With so many brands of commercial feeds, it can be overwhelming trying to decide what feed is appropriate for your animal. Your veterinarian or animal nutritionist is the best source, and first source. But you can also inform yourself on what the guaranteed analysis means, and the nature of the ingredients contained therein. This website is the compilation of information about feeds, ingredients, production processes and feed manufacturers that I have found in my research. It is certainly not a substitute for veterinary or animal nutritionist guidance, but may provide supplemental information.
The information is broken down into five main pages: a blog, Feed Labels, Ingredients, Processes and Companies.
Blog: Articles about feed ingredients, nutrition, and reviews of commercial feeds.
Feed Labels: Information about feed labeling guidelines per the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO).
Ingredients: Ingredients found in commercial feeds with information about what those ingredients are, and what they contribute to the feed.
Processes: Process diagrams for the production of animal feeds as well as for food products that yield by-products that are used as ingredients for animal feeds.
Companies: Information about feed manufacturing companies and the animal feed industry.
